In this tutorial, we will walk you through how to convert your Ally Bank statement to Excel using Lido. Simply follow the steps below.
Before you begin, make sure your Ally Bank statement is saved as a PDF, image, or scanned copy.
If you do not have a Lido account yet, you can create one for free here. Once you are logged in, create a New File.

Click the Extract Data button at the top of your sheet to open the extraction tool.

Drag and drop your file into the upload area, or click to select it from your device. PDFs, scanned images, and photos of paper statements are all supported.

In the Columns field, enter the name of each data point you want Lido to extract, then click Add new column. For an Ally Bank statement, this typically includes Date, Transaction Description, and Amount.
You can also use the optional Extra Instructions box for more control over the results. For example, you can ask Lido to extract each transaction as a separate row, format dates consistently, or keep amounts negative for debits and positive for credits.
Once you have finished, click Process All Files.

After Lido finishes processing, compare the extracted rows with your original statement to confirm that everything was captured accurately. You can then edit cells, adjust column widths, or change the formatting to suit your needs.

Once the data looks right, click Export to Excel to download your Ally Bank statement data as a spreadsheet file.

Lido handles Ally Bank PDF statements from online banking, including checking, savings, and money market accounts.
Format notes: Ally statements are fully digital with a clean layout. Interest accrual lines appear as separate entries that some converters misclassify as transactions. Multiple account types may appear on a single combined statement.
Lido's AI handles these format variations automatically. Unlike template-based converters that break when layouts change, Lido reads the document contextually, so it adapts to Ally Bank's specific formatting without manual configuration.
Copy-paste from online banking: Ally Bank's website lets you view transactions online, but copying and pasting into Excel produces messy formatting that requires significant cleanup. This works for a handful of transactions but breaks down at volume.
CSV download from Ally Bank: Some Ally Bank accounts let you download transactions as CSV directly from online banking. This works for recent transactions but doesn't cover older statements, scanned paper statements, or statements received from clients.
Manual data entry: Typing transactions into Excel. At roughly 45-60 minutes per 30-page statement with a 2-4% error rate, this is the option Lido replaces.

Yes. Lido includes built-in OCR that handles scanned and photographed Ally Bank statements with 99.9% accuracy. Upload the scan or photo, and Lido extracts the same structured data as from a digital PDF.
Some Ally Bank accounts allow CSV transaction downloads from online banking for recent periods. However, this doesn't cover older statements, scanned paper statements, or statements received from clients. For those, an AI converter like Lido extracts the data from the PDF directly.
