In this tutorial, we will walk you through how to convert your U.S. Bank statement to Excel using Lido. Simply follow the steps below.
First, make sure your U.S. Bank statement is saved as a PDF, image, or scanned copy.
If you do not have a Lido account yet, you can sign up for free here. After signing in, create a New File.

Select the Extract Data button at the top of your sheet to begin.

Click to upload your file or drag and drop it into the upload area. Lido supports PDFs, scanned images, and photos of paper statements.
For the purpose of this tutorial, we are only using a sample statement that follows the same layout as a U.S. Bank statement.

In the Columns field, type the name of each data point you want to extract and click Add new column. For a U.S. Bank statement, this typically includes Date, Transaction Description, and Amount.
If you need more control over the results, use the optional Extra Instructions box. For example, you can ask Lido to extract each transaction as a separate row, format dates consistently, or keep amounts negative for debits and positive for credits.
Once you have finished, click Process All Files.

When Lido finishes processing, check the extracted rows against your original statement to make sure everything was captured correctly. You can then edit cells, resize columns, or adjust the formatting to fit your workflow.

When you are satisfied with the results, click Export to Excel to download your U.S. Bank statement data as a spreadsheet file.

Lido handles US Bank PDF statements from online banking, business banking portal, and scanned paper statements.
Format notes: US Bank business statements include multiple accounts on a single statement, requiring extraction logic that separates transactions by account number. Personal statements are more straightforward.
Lido's AI handles these format variations automatically. Unlike template-based converters that break when layouts change, Lido reads the document contextually, so it adapts to US Bank's specific formatting without manual configuration.
Copy-paste from online banking: US Bank's website lets you view transactions online, but copying and pasting into Excel produces messy formatting that requires significant cleanup. This works for a handful of transactions but breaks down at volume.
CSV download from US Bank: Some US Bank accounts let you download transactions as CSV directly from online banking. This works for recent transactions but doesn't cover older statements, scanned paper statements, or statements received from clients.
Manual data entry: Typing transactions into Excel. At roughly 45-60 minutes per 30-page statement with a 2-4% error rate, this is the option Lido replaces.

Some US Bank accounts allow CSV transaction downloads from online banking for recent periods. However, this doesn't cover older statements, scanned paper statements, or statements received from clients. For those, an AI converter like Lido extracts the data from the PDF directly.
