How to Add Borders to Cells in Google Sheets

Follow the steps below to easily add borders to cells in Google Sheets. 

1. Select the Cells Where You Want to Add Borders

Click and drag your mouse to highlight the cells where you want to add borders. You can select a specific range, individual cells, or the entire sheet if needed.

2. Access the Borders Menu from the Toolbar

Look at the toolbar for the borders icon, resembling a square with border lines. Click this icon to access border options.

3. Choose Your Desired Border Style from the Menu

A menu will appear with different types of borders. You can decide on the type of border you want to apply. Options include outer borders, inner borders, or both. Select the appropriate choice for your selected cells.

You can also decide which border style you want to choose from solid, dotted, or dashed lines.

4. Select a Color for Your Borders from the Color Palette

For a custom look, you can change the color of your borders. In the border menu, select the color option and pick a new shade from the available choices.

6. Apply Your Border Selections to the Highlighted Cells

After choosing your border style, type, and color, click to apply your selections. The borders will now be visible around the selected cells.
