Autofit a Single Column

The simplest method to auto fit a single column is to use the double click method as seen below.

1. Hover the mouse over the right side of a column letter

At the top of the screen move the mouse cursor to the edge of the column letter. Notice the mouse cursor turns into the ↔ symbol.

In our example we need to autofit column D, this means we need to hover the mouse at the end of the letter D just before the letter E.

Autofit Multiple Columns

We can also autofit multiple columns at the same time.

1. Select the columns to autofit

Click on the column letters to select them. If the cells are next to each other you can click and drag to select them all.

If the columns to autofit are separate, press and hold down the Ctrl (Cmd on Mac) key and click on the individual column letters.

In our example we will select Column C and Column E as the values in each column are longer than the column width.
