How to Use the KPI Tracking Template for Google Sheets

Follow the steps below to use our KPI tracker template for Google Sheets.

1. Familiarize The Template Layout

Start by getting familiar with the template’s layout. Note where each metric is located, and understand the pre-set formulas in columns like Conversion Rate and Cost per Lead. Conversion rate is calculated by dividing leads generated by website traffic while Cost per lead is derived from dividing total marketing cost by leads generated.

You can add additional KPI metrics by adding a new column and setting up formulas for automation.

2. Enter Your Data

Your main task will be to enter the daily or weekly data for each metric. This includes Website Traffic, Leads Generated, Social Media Engagement, and any other metrics included in your template. Input the data in the respective columns, starting from the first empty row beneath the column headers. You can edit the columns highlighted in yellow.

3. Review Calculated KPIs

After entering your data, the formulas already set in the template will automatically calculate your KPIs. This includes Conversion Rates, Cost per Lead, and others. Review these calculations to ensure your data inputs are accurately reflected in the computed metrics.

4. Utilize The Summary Section

Scroll to the Summary Section of your template. This area will automatically update with key metrics like average conversion rate, total leads generated over time, and average cost per lead, thanks to pre-set formulas. Use this section to quickly assess your digital marketing performance.

5. Regularly Update Your Data

It’s important to consistently add new data to the tracker. Regular updates ensure that the tracker remains a relevant and accurate tool for assessing your digital marketing efforts.
